If you listened to episode 0, the origin story of the Hustle the Day Podcast, you'd know that I have a recurring theme in my life where I achieve some success and then get comfortable and let off the gas. Well, I started to get comfortable.
A few weeks back, I had a huge backlog of episodes recorded of the podcast, enough to last me until March at my current 'once-a-week' release schedule. I also had my product samples out to people and was getting some good feedback. Most people, including my old self, would say, "Things are good, I'll sit back over the Holidays and revisit this later".
I did the opposite. I said, what if I released two podcast episodes a week? That would mean I could record more, reach more people, connect with more people, and share the stories of more people. Sounds great, right? Well, that would mean that when everyone is slowing down for the year, I'd be taking my current cruising pace and slamming on the gas pedal, rather than the brake. Which is exactly what I need to be doing.
This is where people are differentiated, rather than rest on their laurels, they are working harder. So I decided to do that to help my business and my own personal development.
On top of that, the Focused Energy product that I've been working so hard on, well it's about to be produced. Now the smart thing would be to sit back and see how it does to see if the product is viable, right? But the throttle down approach is to develop new products the compliment it, that support it, that will help make it successful. So that's what I've been doing. I have two more products and additional flavors I've been working on and are ready to start talking to manufacturers to test.
Since everyone else is taking this time off, it might be more difficult to accomplish this, but I'm not stopping, I'm mashing that gas pedal down to keep going now, rather than wait for 2020.
